Potato Chips and Happiness

As many of you are aware, I have taken a break from this website. For those of you who follow me and didn’t know; I took a break from this website. It’s a thing that has (or hasn’t, I guess) (the absence, that is) (because an absence is literally something that isn’t happening) been happening for a while. I would really like to come back and say “Hey guys, this break didn’t boost my grades, and I’m happier than ever now that I’m back!” But then I would be lying, and that’s not really a thing I want to do to you guys.

The truth is, my grades have gotten better. Significantly so. My opinions of school have gotten better, and I’m not doing last nights homework during lunch anymore. It really, REALLY shows. Tumblr is, at heart, a time suck. It’s designed to be like that and I don’t harbor any ill feelings towards it for the time I spent here instead of somewhere else. I probably would have just played video games. Emphasis on would have. Now, I would probably do work.

Leaving tumblr isn’t really something I wanted to do, but that’s what’s happening. Not being on this website has really just made me happier. The whole website is just kind of… negative. Most of the humor is based on laughing at other people, not with them. I know that sounds corny, but really. I enjoy a little schadenfreude from time to time, but its different here. It’s more… mean. Take note that I’m not saying that any of you are mean, or evil, or really anything bad. You’re all really wonderful people. It’s just… this place is very negative, and that’s not really something that you notice unless you take a step back and see tumblr for what it is; a place that really focuses on the bad instead of the good.

I’ll give you all an example. A while back there was a post where someone asked a question that was something along the lines of “How come girls don’t orgasm when they put in a tampon?” Not the best question, but this person was genuinely curious as to how this worked, because no one had told them how tampons work or something. I don’t know but that’s not the point. The point is that they didn’t, and they were curious. They didn’t get an answer. At least that’s not the response that was most reblogged. What was most reblogged was someone saying “this sounds like a mitt romney journal entry.” That didn’t help the person who asked the question.  That just made us all go “Ha, they don’t know something that we do.” I laughed at it and reblogged, but really, that didn’t help whoever asked that question. If it was anything, it was mean.

I could go on about the whole “special snowflake” thing and all that, but really, what would be the point of that. Just more negativity. This website doesn’t need more of that.

So… yeah. I really have trouble saying goodbye to things I’ve done for a while (heck, I don’t watch half of my youtube subscriptions anymore), so it’ll be hard to say goodbye to all 224 of you. Wow. 224 people in one and a half years. I just… wow. Glad all of you guys thought I was so funny. As I said earlier, I really don’t like saying goodbye, so I’m kinda not gonna. I’m keeping the blog up, but by the time the new year starts, expect it to just be  completely dead.

All that being said, I really like you guys, and would like to stay in touch. If anyone of you has a skype (or steam), I’d be happy to add you. I’ll be answering any asks and stuff I get, so… yeah. We are very close to the End here.
